A panniculectomy may be considered a mini tummy tuck but is primarily used to alleviate rashes and excess skin at the waistline. These conditions are typically untreatable by nonsurgical means. Unlike a tummy tuck, this procedure does not tighten the abdominal muscles. In many instances, a patient’s insurance company will cover a panniculectomy procedure.
Panniculectomy Considerations
The following symptoms could indicate a panniculectomy procedure is right for you if you are experiencing:
- Stretched skin on the lower abdomen
- Discomfort caused by rashes
- Pain and inconvenience
